The Zale Group began as a result of the growing complexity in the Financial Services field. No single Financial Advisor can be an expert of every tool at his disposal while still delivering excellent service to his clients. Preston realized this early on and has been building his team since 2003. Our Business Card
Our business card is the Zale Group coin. We started using it in 2015 to acknowledge 50 years of combined financial planning experience of our staff.
The front of the coin features the Zale Group Z superimposed over the closing prices of the Dow 30 Industrials from 1977, the year our founding partner started in the business. On either side of the Z are an hourglass and a dollar sign, representing Time and Money, two resources that could be wasted without good planning. This side of the coin represents what we do for our clients.
On the reverse is an image of the Spirit of Detroit by Marshall Fredericks. We chose this image because we are proud to be part of the Detroit area, with its rich history, current renaissance, and great people. Also, since many of our client relationships encompass multiple generations of families, we like the artist’s concept that “God, through the spirit of man is manifested in the family, the noblest human relationship.” This side of the coin represents our clients and their families.
To put it simply, the relationship we have with our clients is two sides of the same coin. Good planning optimizes your time and money to help realize your goals for the most important things in your life.
What separates us from other financial advisors can be summed up in two words: Experience and Consistency.
Experience – Our founding partner has been advising clients for more than 40 years. In fact, some of his clients have been with him for the past 25, 30 and almost all of those years. They have navigated the savings and loan crisis of the 1980s, the crash of 1987, the mini crash of 1997, the dot com bubble of 2000, the aftermath of 9/11, the financial crisis of 2008, and all of the bull and bear markets along the way. It is rare to find that length of experience, and the market perspective that comes with it, in advisors today.
Consistency – That same dedication to serve our clients for over 40 years in the past is shared by our youngest partners looking forward to serve you now and in the future. You can feel confident knowing that our team is committed to be with you for the long term.

Preston Zale, CFP®
Chief Executive Officer
Preston Zale, CFP® has more than 40 years of experience as a Financial Advisor and still works with clients he met from his first years in the business. He manages the stock and bond portfolios, annuity investing, and is the lead strategist for our asset allocation models. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and oversees all of our clients’ financial plans. He is the current President of Seven Ponds Beekeeping Club and past President of the Birmingham chapter of Toastmasters International™ where he helped others develop their public speaking skills and refined his own. He is an educator at heart and loves educating our clients about the financial markets. He donates his time and money to serving others in the community. Preston enjoys spending time with his family, entertaining guests at his residence, and traveling. He lives in Oakland Township with his wife Karen. They have five children and eighteen grandchildren.
Chief Financial Officer
Andrew Zale, CFP® has been working in the Financial Services field for 18 years. He is responsible for ongoing monitoring of client financial plans, insurance strategies, and corporate services. He also manages the technology that we use to serve our clients. Andy places a high value on giving back to the community through his charitable work with local organizations such as Six River’s Land Conservancy and through activities supporting Dutton Farm, a charity dedicated to assisting individuals with physical, mental and emotional impairments. He is an Oakland Township Trustee and Chairman of the Safety Paths and Trails Committee. Andy also serves on the Finance Committee for his church.
He enjoys technology, classic automobiles, and spending time outdoors. He and his wife Janice have four children.
Janice Zale began working with the Zale Group in 2016 and became a Financial Advisor in 2022. Janice loves helping clients pursue financial confidence and work toward their future goals. She is also actively involved in the community. She has previously served as her church’s Children’s Director managing over 30 volunteers serving over 100 children. Janice has also served as a member of her local Library Board. She enjoys spending time with her four children, her extended family, and her soccer family.
After working in healthcare financial planning for 10 years, Linda took time off to raise her two children. She has worked as an Administrative Assistant at LPL since 2017 and really enjoys working with clients. Linda loves traveling with her husband, gardening, and reading in her free time. She can frequently be found volunteering at her church at various youth education and family events and serving on a few committees.
